Catalina review Monday, 03.08.2009
Sometimes you just got to make news about a review. This is one of those occasions, just check the conclusion:  "I can't believe that Aerosoft markets this plane at this price point! Download versions go for around $33 US and what you get is real value for your money. Heck, some web retailers will charge you $20 just to download the pilot's manual, meaning you get the plane for $13! I recommend this add-on without hesitation and you'll be pleased when you get it. I am mostly a cold war jet person myself but I find the Catalina fascinates me in ways other planes don't and is one that I now fly a lot. I go so far to say that this is the commercial add-on of the year and one of the best values in the FSX world. I recommend you go get this beauty NOW!". It's really a very readable review, as they always are on that nice site.

Catalina gets AVSIM Gold Star Wednesday, 17.06.2009
We'll be honest, we expected this one but that does not make us less proud, AVSIM reviewed the PBY Catalina X and they liked it a lot. The conclusion states: "If you don’t mind slow -- and I’m referring to cruise speed, not frame rates -- this is a very attractive package. What sets it apart isn’t any one feature -- other products have more detail, or more sophisticated engine modeling -- but the combination of features, performance, and price. It looks sharp, especially in the VC; it’s smart about trading detail for frame rates; and it’s affordable." We certainly like the comments about the price, we believe there is no other aircaft that can compete with such quality at that price. A good thing at this time, right?

If you like your software in a boxed format (or these day we should say dvd-box format) we got good news. The PBY-Catalina X is now available both in box and download. People who had already ordered the product should see it delivered in the next few days. Took a bit longer then expected as we wanted to make sure there were no major problems left. If you have not yet seen this amazing aircraft, have a look at the product page or the 3d cockpit preview. You'll understand why this is an aircraft we find easy to sell!

Aerosoft PBY-Catalina paintkit and comments Friday, 08.05.2009
We like to thank all our customers for the massive response to the release of the Cat. We are closing this week in a very good mood. We also got the completed paintkit online. We do have one issue with the Aerosoft Sound Module, but as this is one of these things that happens just with a few customers (about 0.3% now and that is 0.3% too much) and that we can not recreate here it is hard to fix. We'll get that sorted out as well of course. Now if you are not sure about this aircraft, why not see what actual paying customers on our forum say about it and click [more..]

Aerosoft PBY Catalina X released Tuesday, 05.05.2009
We agree, it took a loooong time to get the PBY Catalina out of its hangar onto the platform. But now it is available and now you can kick the tires and see if this state-of-the-art aircraft is made for you! It does not oly feature a stunningly detailed model, but has many advanced system simulations as well. In fact it's so realistic, that we decided to include a 400 (!) page Operations Manual of a one of the few remaining flying Catalina's for your convenience. Check out the videos on the realistic start-up procedures or the innovative Interactive Checklist on the product page.
